Eliminate Madicaid Recovery. It prevents families from accumulating wealth.

Created by A.B. on September 23, 2011

Medicaid imposes stringent limits on income and assets of recipients, consistent with its mission to provide a health care safety net for the poor and for those whose personal resources are insufficient to pay the full cost of care. In order to fulfill this mission, Medicaid also recovers expenses paid on behalf of recipients from their estates.

OBRA ‘93 requires states to recover, at a minimum, all property and assets that pass from a deceased person to his or her heirs under state probate law, which governs both property conveyed by will and property of persons who die intestate.

This policy is truly anti-american. It targets those families who are most in need and in poverty and keeps them in poverty and dependent on the system.

Eliminate Medicaid Recovery.
