America is home to one of the greatest education system in the world. However, America also has one of the most segregated schools in the world. This is attributed to mandated school zones especially in New York City. Students feel pressured to attend the school zoned to them because they are automatically accepted. Historically and contemporarly, different neighborhoods (zones) are home to different ethnicity groups. By going to these zoned schools, students are not creating a diverse student body. The most effective way to promote diversity is to eliminate these school zones.
