Since 1966 the Motion Picture Association of America has been using a rating system to rate the motion pictures and television shows we watch everyday. The current rating system, which was evolved from the Hay's Code of the 1930s, is used to spell out what is acceptable and what is unacceptable to be shown in a motion picture. However, it tends to have stricter guidelines for independent studios then the major ones. Also, turning a blind eye towards harsh violence yet being absurdly critical of nudity and language. The MPAA receives direct influence by major studios who also happen to control a majority of the media industry. Isn't it time we end this abuse of our first amendment rights and stop this organization from telling us what we can and can't be exposed to?
