Eliminate the need for ethnic status in the admissions process at state universities.

This is a petition to emphasize academic ability in the admissions process at state universities. The universities' goals should be to have the most equal admission requirements, not the most diverse. By eliminating racial status from the application process, labels can no longer be a factor in college admittance. Diversity is important and beneficial in the academic setting but not at the expense of excellence within the student body. Affirmative action is an outdated practice that has no place in our modern society.
