Eliminate the need of health insurance by exempting non-profit health organizations from medical related patents.

Created by R.N. on December 18, 2011

A major problem with our health care system is that there is a middle man called insurance.

Unfortunately the idea of insurance does not solve the problem of health care costs; instead, it just masks it.

The real issue is the actual cost of the health care itself, whether it is a visit to the doctor, a surgery or medicine.

Yet private enterprise and a free market should be allowed to run.

Therefore, I propose the following:

If one desires to start a non-profit organization to produce healthcare related equipment, technology or medicines they are exempt from violating any related patents from for-profit companies.

Thus, to be competitive, private enterprise will have to produce the same healthcare related equipment, technology or medicines at a price point that the non-profits do.
