My petition is to eliminate the "No Child Left Behind" act and replace it with a new, better act. I chose this because this act DOES leave children behind, I know this because I am a student in the American School System. This act makes things either too fast, or too slow for students. In my school, this act is ranted and raved about continuously. When the act is put in place, class is put to a halt for 1 or 2 students, when the rest of the students are on par. Say a student doesn't understand how to multiply fractions, the teacher either stops the whole class or just moves on and that child IS left behind. The teachers focus on one student and that student only, while wasting valuable learning time for other students.
