Eliminate the One and Two dollar bills. Produce a two-dollar bi-metallic coin similar to the two Euro coin.

Created by T.H. on December 26, 2012

This is a huge cost saver for the government to reduce the expenditure of continually replacing the current fiber based currency. The two-dollar coin would revive the vending industry and make small transactions easier. Coins last infinitely longer than currency and are harder to counterfeit. Additionally eliminate the Kennedy half dollar and put Kennedy's image on the new coin. The current model of coins and currency needs to be updated to reflect modern money and spending habits. The initial change would stimulate the economy by forcing merchants to purchase new cash registers and counting devices but the long term savings would outweigh the initial investment.
