Previous voting records show an average of around 50% of ballots cast using straight-party voting. This is fine if you've researched every candidate, and your choices happen to all belong to one party or the other. I'm convinced, however, that this is not the case. I strongly believe candidates are being elected simply on their party affiliation. This petition should help prevent some people from electing strictly by party, as opposed to by candidate, and quite possibly stop less qualified from obtaining office because of it.
