Most major wireless providers are gouging the american public with ridiculous sms fees that are inflating our communication expenses while using spectrum that belongs to the American people.
SMS fees have no basis on their valuation, especially when bundled with "data plans" that supposedly allot gigabytes of data to each customer. When considering the 160 bytes of data in the sms message and extrapolating the cost using the data plan, the customer is paying a markup of HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS PERCENT. Considering that both sender and receiver are forced to pay for sms messages, you can DOUBLE the markup yet again.
We are running out of spectrum, ironically SMS is the key to maximizing our use of limited spectrum while carrying little to no overhead for the providers.
