To put some teeth into reforming government spending, eliminate Legislative pay and benefits from the federal budget. This compensation should be paid by the states they represent. The actions they take at the federal level effect the nation as driven by their constituents or, even sometime it seems, by their personal agenda. Maybe by doing so, We the People might find more cooperation between the two parties and the sitting President, Democrat or Republican. Removing the pay for legislative branch from the federal teet would speak volumes toward real federal reform.
