We the people want to eliminate the penny from circulation. The penny costs more than it is worth to mint and does not have enough buying power in our economy to make it worth keeping.
We also propose that a cheaper material be used to make nickles. They too cost more to make than they are worth.
Upon the elimination of the penny and a cheaper material being used to make nickles we believe that transactions should then be rounded to the nearest nickle. This will eliminate the need for the penny and help to bring our currency to reflect modern times.
