Eliminate the Penny

Today, it costs more to make a penny than a penny is actually worth. Therefore it is completely unnecessary to continue to use the governments money to create pennies. We can just round everything up to the nearest nickel, because who really cares about the extra two cents that they are gaining or losing. The money that the government is spending to create these useless coins could be better used to fund more useful projects such as Social Security. The most useful aspect of a penny is the smile it puts on your face when you find one that is heads up. It is not worth it to include the cost of making pennies in the governments budget because pennies are not as important as other programs the government has to fund.
