The penny is an antiquated piece of currency that costs more to produce than its own face value. The U.S Mint estimates that 52.9 million dollars could be saved from eliminating the penny. Canada and Australia have already eliminated their version of the one cent coin and no fiscal repercussions have befallen them. Help us remove the penny and save $52.9 million dollars a year.
