Eliminate the Pledge of Allegiance. Few people actually know the words. Few of those that do understand the meaning. While the flag is a symbol it is not what our country is about.
I propose a Citizen's Pledge as follows:
I am one of WE THE PEOPLE who has committed myself to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity. To that end I dedicate myself to support, uphold, protect and defend our Constitution of the United States of America and I will bear true faith and allegience to the same. To the very best of my ability I will proudly perform my duties as a citizen of the United States of America.
