Productivity in Congress is at an all time low. Voters are more focused on which colors the candidate wears than what he or she stands for. Americans are having trouble counting on our government, a system set up by our founding fathers to protect us.
George Washington warns us in his farewell from office:
"However [political parties] may now and then answer popular ends, they are likely in the course of time and things, to become potent engines, by which cunning, ambitious, and unprincipled men will be enabled to subvert the power of the people and to usurp for themselves the reins of government, destroying afterwards the very engines which have lifted them to unjust dominion."
It's time for Americans to take the reigns of the political system. It's time to stop political parties.
