Eliminate professional licensing restrictions upon completion of sentence for those convicted of crimes.

Created by C.C. on November 14, 2012

Eliminate professional licensing restrictions for those convicted of crimes. For those convicted of crimes and branded with the label of convicted felon or criminal, the stigma attached due to the modern ability to disseminate and store large amounts of data greatly hindered their ability to reenter society as productive citizens and has dramatically increased the rate of recidivism.
Those that have chosen the path of education to try to improve their chances of gainful and meaningful employment have found obstacles by state licensing boards in obtaining the necessary licenses. These professions include medicine, dentistry, engineering, law, real estate, finance, and even pest control.
Please President Obama, eliminate barriers for those who pose little risk from pursuing their vocations
