eliminate the regressive gas tax and replace it by raising the income tax on people who earn over $200,000 per year.

Gas prices are way too high.

One way to help alleviate the problem would be to eliminate the 18.4 cent per gallon federal gas tax and replace it by increasing income taxes on people who earn over $200,000 per year.

The gas tax is particularly regressive as a billionaire pays the same rate on it as every single individual in the country does. Warren Buffet pays the same tax rate per gallon as his secretary.

For most people gas is something they have to buy to get to work or look for work. This tax is particularly hard on the unemployed as many of them struggle just to pay for the gas they need to get to job interviews.

Please push for an end to this regressive unfair tax on the poor and replace it with a tax on those who can afford it.
