The great game of baseball is being ruined by Rule 7.13. The rule states that:
-A runner attempting to score may not deviate from his direct pathway to the plate in order to initiate contact with the catcher.
-Unless the catcher is in possession of the ball, the catcher cannot block the pathway of the runner as he is attempting to score.
This rule has changed the outcome of many games, and is ruining the sport. Players are taught growing up to block the plate and charge it, and now the slightest infringement can change the outcome of not only a game, but a whole season. It is almost impossible to play catcher and not have your foot between home plate and the runner. Please sign this petition so we can return America's Pastime back to normal, the way it should be.
