In the United States all males age 18-25 are required to register with the Selective Service System so that in the event of a draft the government can use this registration to force individuals into war. The 13th amendment prohibits slavery or involuntary servitude except as punishment for a crime yet conscription clearly violates that. Forcing someone into the war to kill or be killed and work for the state under the threat of prosecution or fines is involuntary servitude. The moment we force people into military service, we lose what we are fighting for.
