I find it sickening to know that people can collect social security without reaching the retirement age (and without having a physical disability-preventing them from work).
There are even lawyers who specialize in fighting for a so-called "crazy-check" for undeserving people (for a price), even psychologists who assist those lawyers in the sham.
This leads to multiple generations of persons that feel entitled to a check from the government so they can keep working the corner (selling drugs/sex/pirated media/etc.) and having babies they can't afford to take care of.
I recently visited a latin grocery store that offers check cashing services and money wiring abilities, then watched several mothers (with 3-4 kids each) cash SS checks and wire thousands of dollars to Central-America!
