Eliminate "Spring Forward, Fall Back."

Created by R.S. on March 10, 2014

The Energy Policy Act of 2005 extended Daylight Saving Time by approximately a month, a change that was done after heavy lobbying by the sporting goods and convenience store industry. This change has reduced Standard Time to five months a year. The change from Standard to Daylight Time (and in reverse) has been documented to increase vehicular accidents and decrease student performance in school. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops and National PTA opposed the change on the grounds of the latter, noting that students would have to go to school in the dark for a longer period of the year.

This petition calls on the Administration and its allies in the Congress to end "Spring Forward, Fall Back," establishing one year-round time standard for the United States.
