Eliminate staggered Social Security payments and pay all recipients on the first of the month Treasury is now ATM card

Created by S.K. on November 13, 2012

Since the advent of Social Security reform in the Clinton adminstration Social Security recipients have not been paid on the first as prior retirees but ,have payment staggered thoughout the month based on their birthdays. Those born in the first week of a month receive their payments on the second Wednesday, second week -third Wedneday, third week fourth Wednesday, etc. With the Treasury switching entirely to either Direct Deposit or EFT to ATM cards and eliminating paper checks entirely there is no reason not to pay all Social Security recipients equally. Currently, recipients born in the first week can wait as long as 14 days for a check, second week 21 days and third 28 and fourth week may have to wait and extra month. All recipients of Social Security should be treated equally .
