eliminate the stigma attached to a person that the public knows has a mental illness.

Created by M.M. on June 03, 2015

I would like to eliminate the stigma attached to a regular person that is known where they live as having a mental illness. Their HIPPA rights are often violated because of the knowledge that this person might hurt or kill someone else just because they have a mental illness that not everybody understands. This knowledge is often gossiped about and many people with mental illnesses, once it is well known, tend to have difficulty getting or keeping a job, firearms, credit, keeping and/or maintaining a marriage or relationship, proper treatment for physical illnesses, and yes, even a date. The general public seems to think that the average person is ¨safe¨ only if the said person with the illness is in counseling, which is not always true.
