Eliminate "Temporary Employee" position status of U.S. Postal Mail Carriers and re-classify as "Career" status.

Created by C.H. on November 27, 2012

Despite myths about the U.S. Postal Service, "Temporary Employees":

> In many cases have contributed over 5 years of service.
> Receive no holiday pay, no sick pay, have no retirement options and must pay a much higher rate for insurance coverage.
> Are subject to extremely harsh working conditions. They often work 6 days per week (with morning notification if they do get a day off), work over 10 hrs per day, learn most routes in their city and deliver more then one route per day.
> Are at risk of losing their jobs.

Our government needs to be held to a higher standard regarding their own employment practices. This position classification must be eliminated immediately. These employees should be re-classified as "Career" employees with the same benefits as their fellow mail carriers.
