Daylight Saving Time is no longer an effective means of saving energy and promoting the economy. As such, it is time to eliminate the arbitrary time changes and associated confusion by choosing one time standard. The State of Arizona has not participated in Daylight Savings Time for over forty years and it is time for the rest of the country to follow suit. Daylight Saving Time does not serve any functional purpose and is a man-made mandate that has outlived its purpose. It was first instituted in WWI and WWII on a temporary basis and repealed after each conflict. DST was regurgitated during the oil crisis in the 1970's and signed into law. The time has come to repeal that law.
