Eliminate the U.S. Department of Education.

Created by M.B. on November 16, 2012

We the People hereby request that The U.S. Department of Education should be eliminated for several reasons, including, but not limited to:

1. Nowhere in the U.S. Constitution is it stated that the Federal Government has the authority to dictate educational policies.

2. The government-run schools themselves are highly inefficient, as well.

3. Billions of dollars are spent on all of this each year, and we get back less than we spent. All of this money would be put to better use left in the hands of the states and local communities.

These are only three of the many reasons that the U.S Department of Education should be eliminated. Leave education to each state individually, and keep the Federal Government out of it. It has no real authority to be in charge of a child’s education.
