As we struggle to fully fund Social Security benefits for future retirees, the Social Security “wage base” must be eliminated. Currently, Social Security taxes are levied only upon the first $113,700 of an individual’s wages. This limit must be eliminated. These taxes must be collected from all earned income.
This action will impact fewer than twenty percent of American wage earners and would likely not affect the rate of economic recovery currently underway in the United States.
We call upon the Obama administration to advocate for this change as part of "entitlement reform."
