If Iran gives up all of its Uranium, weaponized and non-weaponized (medical research and certain forms of other research would be allowed), The United States would pay for 50% of the cost to install Thorium reactors. Which would replace the Uranium reactors.
This would require some more research and development by the US and China, the two countries are working together already on Thorium reactors. Several other countries are also working on this, even the US and Russia at one point had joint projects.
There are several advantages to Thorium reactors.
1) They are cleaner than coal, and current Nuclear power
2) There is less waste with more energy
3) Lastly, Thorium is much harder if not impossible to weaponize- The US gave up on weaponizing research in the 1990's.
