Do you think our forefathers, deceived the Indians into believing that protection by reservation and sovereignty was an act of respect? Could it have possibly been yet another attempt to remove them entirely from civilization?
What makes us think that during the times of the accepted practice of slavery that our forefathers would treat them with respect at any signing of "treaties?"
What makes us think that reservations are not a form of imprisonment?
We, as Americans have the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution to protect our rights. Is it possible that reservations and sovereign status stripped the Indians of theirs?
