Emergency Action for Humanitarian Aid and Ceasefire Enforcement in Aleppo

Created by C.C. on December 15, 2016

The Syrian civil war has resulted in the loss of nearly 500,000 lives and displacement of more than 11 million people. Attacks on hospitals, schools, and other points of interest in Aleppo over the past month have resulted in hundreds of civilian deaths.
It is the United States' responsibility to prevent the humanitarian crisis in Syria from devolving further. We request that the U.S. government:

1. Ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid to civilian areas in and around Aleppo in the form of medical, food, and water supplies;
2. Exert diplomatic leverage within the United Nations Security Council to enforce the ceasefire in Eastern Aleppo until besieged areas have been evacuated;
3. Decry the war crimes committed by pro-Assad forces , including the bombardment of hospitals and schools
