Bears were removed from the endangered species list as recently as 2012, there is a study currently in progress to determine actual numbers.
At all of the meetings and opportunities for public comment, consistently over 75% of the people have been against a hunt.
FWC came up with a random number, 320 bears to be "harvested", yet they have sold over 2,500 licenses, and continue. For two DAYS the hunt is unlimited. Then they plan to let the hunters know when the quota has been met by CELL phone and e-mail. In the woods. (possibly no reception or battery)
A hunt would be reckless and irresponsible, and could decimate the species.
