We have lost to many women to domestic violence because TRO's could not be served to the defendant. In addition, many victims of violence wont even take action in obtaining a TRO because they are basically useless unless their abuser can be served.
This is UNACCEPTABLE and too many lives are lost. These abusers hide out to prevent be served or family and friends will lie regarding their location.
If there is a history of abuse, police reports, pictures or visual signs of abuse on the victim, the TRO should be valid upon the judges signature, otherwise why is it called a Temporary Restraining Order.
Taking a stand against domestic violence starts at the root. If victims can not depend on enforced laws against this horror to protect us, the percentage of deaths by DV will soar!
