Tony Gonzalez, Tight End of the National Football League team The Atlanta Falcons, is an integral part of said team and a major reason for their success this year. Because a winning sports franchise plays a vital role in a city and state's economy, losing a player of Gonzalez's skill to retirement could be a detriment to the economy of the city of Atlanta and the state of Georgia. His absence might also send Falcons fans, who have waited over a decade for a season like this, into a mild depression, which is a health issue. Because of these reasons and others, I petition the President and the Congress of the United States of America to take all steps necessary to influence Tony Gonzalez to stay at least one more season.
