Congress has passed legislation to facilitate American prosperity by accepting the Metric System. Most recently, the Metric Conversion Act of 1975 encouraged departure from the antiquated US customary units.
The USA is not in good company with Myanmar and Liberia, which make up the only three countries in the world that have not adopted the superior Metric System as the official system of weights and measures.
