We the people ask the federal government to Call on Congress to act on an issue:

Enable Immediate Reporting of SPAM/ROBOCALLS to Speed Enforcement of Do Not Call Lists

Created by R.M. on August 24, 2016

Some cell phone and land line carriers provide a “*69” feature which echoes the phone number of the last call you received. We suggest a “*99” feature which would immediately report the number of the last caller to the carrier and the FTC/FCC for action. Such a feature would speed up holding such people accountable.

Note: nothing special about “*99” – it could be any two-digit number. Action by Congress is needed to standardize the feature and empower the FTC/FCC to collect the information and use it in legal actions.

Currently the way to report SPAM/ROBOCALLS is to fill out a form on https://www.donotcall.gov/ , which delays action.
