As a property owner ( without morgage ) in The United States, I pay my property taxes for 365 days a year. However I am restricted in the amount of time that I can use my property by the current visas available. I realise that certain restrictions must be applied to people like myself, to ensure that we do not claim benefits from the state. However I would hope that proof of financial independance and undertaking to not claim any benefits, would enable us to use our property for longer periods. In turn this would help the local economy as we would spend money in local businesses. Also such flexibility would encourage other potential property buyers to purchase. In short I am seeking an introduction of a Retirement Visa for non morgaged property owners.
