Recently the Iranian government has released evidence that they have managed to reverse-engineer an American assault drone that was captured in late 2011. To further avoid instances like this and risk losing our advantages of advanced technology against unfriendly nations like Iran, self-destruct capabilities should be applied to these drones so that the technology cannot be used against us.
