Enact a 5% across the board budget cut and use those funds to rebuild NASA as a functioning space program

We as a country have lost focus on a major issue in the world. As developing countries push their space programs to the next level, we have allowed our space program to take a back seat. Private American companies have began to push the envelope in space exploration but an adjustment of funding should be supported in order to advance the nations interests as a whole. While some may think that space is no longer relevant and a mere remnant of the cold war, it will prove to be a larger issue as the years go on and our country begins to fall behind in all forms of technology. We as a country should drive innovation.
