Enact better accessibility to mental healthcare in the wake of all shootings this year.

Created by N.T. on December 15, 2012

Enacting stricter gun control laws is just the first step to preventing horrific and egregious mass murders such as those in CT, Co, Or, and WI.

We need to have a more accessible and affordable mental healthcare system. Millions of Americans live with undiagnosed or untreated mental illness. And sadly, sometimes this leads to violence either against themselves or others.
Background screening will help prevent individuals with a criminal record from access to guns; but it won't catch those who have the potential for violence due to mental illness.

Mental illness is serious but mostly treatable; and American citizens suffering from it it should not have to live in shame or without care.
