The "Us vs Them" mentality exhibited by police has damaged their credibility and has lost the trust of the public.
We urge the administration to take action to reduce and eliminate the militarization of local, county, and state police forces.
In addition, enforce the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994. This would provide statistics, which are currently lacking, on police abuse and use of excessive force.
Finally, reassert the legality of filming police. Officers demanding citizens and journalists to cease should face real consequences.
