How confusing is your cable, internet and/or wireless bill? Random surcharges, fees and other charges are levied, often without notice, which increase the customer's bill far beyond expectation. What begins as a seemingly good deal ends up costing much more than the customer originally expected.
The FTC and CFTC should be allowed to impose strict, common sense guidelines on how major telecommunication companies can charge fees. Additionally, advertised deals should include total package billable costs; if a company offers a $99 TV/voice/internet plan, then the final bill shouldn't be allowed to balloon to $150 because they didn't want to tell us about the inevitable fees and taxes.
