Enact consequences for Federal Employees who file fraudulent or malicious complaints such as EEO, Inspector General (IG)

Created on February 27, 2016

Some Federal Employees file multiple/frequent EEO or Inspector General (IG) complaints fraudulently or maliciously, without genuine merit. In these instances, these individuals file their complaints with an underlying agenda, sometimes to target specific individuals with whom they are disgruntled. When doing so, these individuals cause an enormous expenditure of labor hours to comply with the established procedures, equating to significant amounts of monetary resources.

It is recommended that the Administration and appropriate Agency(ies) enact policies, similar to the civilian arena, whereby individuals found filing continuous EEO complaints without merit and malicious IG complaints be held liable for the personnel costs resulting from their actions.
