Enact drug and alcohol screening for the elected leadership of this country.

Created by P.P. on May 02, 2014

According to the 2012 census, the average American income was $51,324. Many of us are required to provide passing drug and alcohol screens in order to even be offered a job. These screens are often required by federal law. Congress has even sought to expand testing to include the poorest among us, those utilizing social assistance programs and even those receiving unemployment benefits yet congress itself is exempt from these requirements.

Let us demand that congress serve the people of this nation by standing with us, not above us. The average congressman earns 3.5 times the average American at a base salary of $174,000. They make incredibly important decisions and we rely on them to represent us. These important positions should be subject to even more scrutiny.
