Gun ownership is a right guaranteed to Americans by the second amendment. Despite this right, strict gun control laws should be placed into effect that protect the right to own guns and prevent the massacres we saw in Newton CT. Specifically, the following laws need to be put into effect.
1. A psychological exam must be administered to anyone who wishes to own a gun, at the time of the gun purchase, and yearly afterwards. The gun owner will pay for this test.
2. An immediate ban of all future semi-automatic weapons and ammunition.
3. A government buyback program for anyone who owns a semiautomatic weapon.
4. A thorough background check on all gun owners yearly (gun owners will pay for this).
