Enact a federal law that would require that no government official can pass a law that they do not have to adhere to.

Created by E.W. on November 13, 2012

I would like to see a law passed that would prohibit our government law-makers from passing laws that they do not have to adhere to. Should they receive pension packages or lifetime health care if the rest of the government employees do not receive those same benefits? Especially after serving limited time in office? They should have to adhere to the same rules and laws that their constituents have to adhere to; they should not be exempt merely because they write the laws. Should they be able to vote themselves a raise when the rest of the country has had to take pay freezes and cuts because of the state and federal economic crisis?
