School shootings are becoming commonplace as copycat gunmen are using them to gain notoriety during what many times is a mass-murder / suicide.
It’s time to stop allowing our children and their teachers to be trapped in classrooms as defenseless targets. School shootings happen suddenly and unexpectedly, and law enforcement response times can take between 20-45 minutes to control the scene. What I propose is a federal mandate that requires all school districts to provide professionally trained, armed protection of our students. Allow school staff to be trained and certified as law enforcement officers to provide and on-site first resopnder and save innocent lives.
