We the American people feel that as public servants, anyone in an elected federal position should be able to better empathize with our way of life. By limiting their pay to $9.00/hour, with no pay raises or bonuses, and eliminating pensions and life-long pay, we feel that they would better understand how life is for the majority of Americans. They would therefore be more inclined to run for these positions not for the great pay, pensions, and power, but for the honest intention of making America a stronger, better place.
