There needs to be a threshold at which a financial penalty becomes jail time. Corporations have too much fiscal influence and would rather pay fines and penalties in leu of abiding by laws. This needs to be curbed by enacting criminal investigations and ensuing jail time for CEO's or executives when companies exceed a certain penalty amount. I suggest the amount be $1 million. Whenever a corporation owes more than $1 million in penalties for breaking laws, the leadership of that company needs to be investigated and charges need to be filed.
As a corporate business owner myself, I understand that corporations are faceless entities with more political power than actual people. This should also coincide with overturning Citizens United.
