Enact a law that bars anyone who is a convicted felon from holding public office at any level of government.

It is time for us to stop letting felons, people who have already committed a serious crime against our nation and society, to hold public positions where they can affect and/or create the laws of our country.
In many states you lose even the right to vote as a felon, which I feel is proper, but they still have the right to run for and hold public office as a Mayor, Governor, Congressman or Senator???
No one, who has been convicted of a crime as serious as a felony should be allowed to run for or hold public office at any level of US Government.
If necessary you can grandfather out the ones holding office now, where they can finish their current term and then they are banned from public office, like they should have been to begin with, from then on.
