Enact a law mandating that all BB and pellet guns be entirely made of a day-glo material.

We ask that all weapons that fire BBs and pellets be made entirely from a material impregnated with a specific day-glo color, such as Hunter Orange, not just the indicator tag at the end of the barrel. This federal law would make illegal the modification/painting of firearms Hunter Orange, which would be reserved for pellet and BB guns, so as not to cause confusion. There should be stiff penalties for those who disguise a real firearm by painting it Hunter Orange. This national standardization would assist law enforcement officers in identifying from afar a weapon that is either an actual firearm, or merely a pellet gun, require little additional training, be cheap to implement, and would prevent tragedies such as occurred with Tamil Rice, as Hunter Orange is highly visible.
